ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Tasche Laine is a Kansas-born adventurer raised in a picturesque town in Oregon. She’s explored most of the US and a few foreign lands, too, feeding her travel bug.

From TV news reporter to teaching child actors in Hollywood, her diverse career took her to teaching middle school and high school English, impacting young minds with her love for literature.

After raising her daughter in California, Tasche reignited her passion for writing and returned to her roots in the Pacific Northwest. Rainy days became her muse, enabling the writing to flow. Her debut book, CLOSURE, a fictional memoir based on her life, won a book award in 2018. Switching gears, she crafted the thrilling novel, CHAMELEON, earning another award for empowering women in fiction in this domestic thriller.

But she didn’t stop there! Switching up genres again, Tasche delved into the young adult/teen world with her captivating mystery series, “CHRONICLES OF V.” And then the unexpected happened. She fell in love. Her new husband was mesmerized by her literary world, leading to a delightful collaboration. Together, they co-authored the Lil Peter children’s book series, teaching core values with a heartfelt message in each book.

Now living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her husband and their adorable pups, Story & Page, Tasche also enjoys her role as a book editor at Skye Blue Press, where she continues to nurture and elevate the work of fellow authors. FAQs

What’s the deal with your name?

I get this one all the time. The name ‘Tasche’ is actually a German word, and it’s pronounced Tasha. The short version? I was named after a cat. Still interested? Okay (you asked for it!) in German, Tasche means kit or bag (like handbag, pocket book, purse, or attaché case). My dad took German in college. When deciding what to name their new kitten, my parents consulted a German-English dictionary and looked up ‘KIT’—short for kitten, and also my mom’s initials. They loved the word ‘tasche’ and bequeathed it to their kitten. When I came along, they still liked the name so they passed it on to me. However, we got a new student from Germany in fourth grade. Thomas Wittek took one look at the name card on my desk and bust out laughing and pointing at me. “Tasche?! Ha ha ha! You’re an old bag!” Needless to say, I went home that day, crying to my mother over the traumatizing event.
